North Texas Giving Day 2024

In North Texas, food insecurity is a heartbreaking reality for many families, with 1 in 5 children struggling with it every day. Rising living costs have made this challenge even more daunting, forcing parents to make agonizing choices between essentials like food, housing, and utilities. At 5 Loaves Food Pantry, we are dedicated to stepping in during these difficult times to provide crucial support.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 this year for North Texas Giving Day, these funds will be used to help provide food for our community. Each month, we reach out to over 4,500 families through programs like our Backpack Feeding Program, the Hungry Athletes initiative, and our drive-thru food line. These funds raised this NTxGD will ensure that families receive not just groceries, but also fresh produce, bread, and other vital supplies. We’re committed to giving children the chance to thrive and families the relief they desperately need.

Back to School Bash

Our annual Back 2 School Bash is coming up on Saturday, July 27th. Last year we served over 400 local children with school supplies ranging from backpacks, pencils, folders, crayons, and much more. We expect even more kids in need this year and are excited to serve them. Would you like to have a hand in setting a student up for a successful school year? Check out our school supply list, when you are at the store, go ahead and pick up a few items. You can also shop off our Amazon Wish List for school supplies as well. We need all donations dropped off by Saturday, July 20th.

Christmas for the Children

In November/December each year

Imagine spending Christmas with little food and no way of getting presents for your children. With the help of our generous donors like yourself and others, we will bring some Christmas cheer to those who otherwise would go without.

For Christmas 2023, we are helping to provide Christmas cheer for 518 local children! You can help too, by purchasing Walmart Gift Cards in $25 increments. Our goal is to collect 1,040 gift cards so that each child gets two cards for gifts! Gift Cards must be turned in no later than Friday December 8th.

Not able to make it by the store to pick up a gift card? No worries, you can make a donation on our website and designate it for Christmas For the Children. 

 This year when the children and families come to pick up their gifts and gift cards, there will be stations with different activities like a photobooth with Santa, crafts, and even hot chocolate and smores! We want to make sure the children and their families feel the spirit of Christmas and know they are loved.

Trunk or Treat

We are teaming up with Altrusa International of Garland to have an amazing Fall Festival on Saturday October 28 from 10am-2pm! This event will be held at North Pointe Church of Christ in their parking lot and Credit Union of Texas is bringing their food truck! There will be bounce houses, games, Trunk-or-Treat and so much more for the community to come out and enjoy!

Online Auction

Thanks to YOU, we raised over  $40,000 during our 2024 Online Auction and Dinner!

With the online auction, registrations for Friday evening’s dinner, raffles, and live auctions during Friday evening, and our fantastic sponsors, we raised over $40,000 toward our current missions and programs!
